Hey there, music friends and family!

I'm excited to share what’s been brewing in my little studio. 🎶 My latest song, "You Make Me Smile" is finally ready for your ears! The song's melody has a Beatlesque vibe to it, with a jazzy twist.

Jon Bakke makes a return appearance, after previously singing on “Oh Dear World”, with a touching performance on the main and backing vocals, bringing the song to new heights. After trying my best at singing it for three months, Jon has done much better in a few days. Lesson learned for me.

Here's a fun behind-the-scenes story: The main lyrical theme? That was my daughter's idea! Back in June, when I just got the chords and basic melody written, I told her, "I don't want to write just another cheesy love song." and she suggested what would become the point of the song.

As far as production: I played all the instruments, mixed and mastered the song. It was the first time I was using the Korg Minilogue analog synthesizer on one of my tracks and it was a lot of fun to find the right sounds with it.
